RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SEARCH OF STARS
Please read the Rules & Regulations to familiarise yourself with the subtle nuances of this Actor Application Form to prevent any unforeseen surprises.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Every participant who wishes to register, enter and compete in the Search for Stars Talent Contest by uploading and submitting a video of his or her performance on this website needs to read and understand these rules, agree with and accept them.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The Participants
- can be Male, Female or Any other. All are welcome.
- must be 18 to 55 years of Age, both years included, with their birthdays falling on or after January 1, 1965 all the way up to December 31, 2002 or before.
- must upload their front-facing photograph, (Half Bust) on the website.
- shall have to provide proof of age and address by uploading copies of the required/necessary documents as scanned PDF files.
- (a) Accepted Documents for Indian Nationals are Aadhar Card/Voter Card/Driving License/Passport.
(Any two of these documents may be submitted).
- (b) Participants who are Foreign Nationals or NRIs must upload a copy of their Passports as a valid proof.
VIDEO PREPARATION
All Contestants must prepare a two minute video,
highlighting their ability to perform in front of a camera,
to up load on the Search for Stars website.

Contestants must be fluent in at least one, of the following
13 Indian languages in order to create a good performance video:
Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Panjabi, Tamil, Telugu
Please NOTE:
In order to multiply their chances, talented participants are welcome to submit video performances in more than one language.
However, every additional language submission will be treated as a separate entry and the participant will have to sign up afresh on the portal for every entry.Multiples entries in a single language by a participant are NOT permitted.
Dos & Don’ts before shooting.:
In order to prepare for the performance video for submission, some points have to be kept in mind.
The location where the shooting has to take place
must be evenly lit. Not too bright to wash out the video,
nor too under lit to mar the visibility of the performer.
It must be silent, free of noise (birds, dogs, people chattering, rickety fans, squeaking furniture, etc.)
The background should be plain.
Not black or dark, Not white or bright.
Not cluttered to distract from the performance.
Clothing, Jewellery and Makeup
The performer should wear plain clothes, too.
No black, white or red. No Thin stripes or fine checks.
No jingling and distracting jewellery or makeup.
Just enough, the right amount.
Props may be used, if needed.
Contestants must watch the film from where they have selected their portion to perform. Especially that very part. Again and again. Study it and then do it! In their very own special, personal way. Please be careful to ensure that the duration does not exceed 90 seconds or is less than 60 seconds. Rehearse many times.
Entrants must shoot their rehearsals as many times as needed to study and learn from do better till they get a perfect performance and they are satisfied they have done a good job. Check out with others.
The video must be shot in horizontal (landscape) position. Not Vertical.
Please do not shoot the video selfie-style. Use a stand or get someone to shoot for you.
Video Specifications
What is wanted is a video that is not longer than
two minutes (120 seconds).
There will be two parts to this Video:
- A) The Introduction (up to 30 seconds).
Here the performer will give the following details
- 1) Full Name
- 2) Age in Years
- 3) Height in Feet & Inches / Centimetres
- 4) Name of State
- 5) Language of Performance
- 6) The Name of the Film
- 7) The Role you are going to ACT
- 8) Name of Actor who performed the role (optional)
- B) Performance in preferred Language (60-90 seconds):
Please NOTE:
The entrant must view/review their videos
and only when they are thoroughly satisfied with their performance, must they upload the video on the Search for Stars website.
Videos failing technical checks are liable to be rejected.
No refunds will be given for rejected videos.

Please NOTE:
Payment of the Processing Fee does not guarantee advancing to further stages or inclusion in the Talent Bank.
This is entirely dependent on the quality of the performance of the individual participant as adjudged by the Organising Committee, Selectors and the Judges.
The Decision of the Organising Committee, Selectors and Judges is final and binding in all cases and matters.
All Participants must read, understand, agree with and accept the rules and regulations of Search for Stars contest before filling in and submitting his or her entry form and then paying the non-refundable processing fees.
