“SEARCH FOR STARS” is a unique reality based talent-hunt program (“Program”) being produced by Film Federation of India (“FFI”) to be telecast primarily on the web channel of the FFI titled “FFI TV” (“Channel”). By means of these terms and conditions set forth herein (“Terms and Conditions”), the FFI is providing an opportunity to participant(s) aged between 18 up to 55 years to register for the preliminary auditions of the Program (“Activity”), to be held by FFI. By submitting your Entry (as defined below) through Entry Platform on terms more particularly described herein below, the Participant(s) agree to be unconditionally bound by the Terms and Conditions as provided herein below:


In order to participate in the Activity, each interested participant (“Participant(s)”) shall be required to submit his/ her entry (“Entry/Entries”) during the Activity Period in the manner specified below. For the avoidance of doubt, it is hereby clarified that by submitting the Entry, the Participant is representing that the Entry or contents thereof are not confidential or comprise any sensitive personal information.

To submit the Entry the Participant shall be required to follow the process as stated herein:

  • By participating in the Activity, it is construed that the Participant(s) have read and understood these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy including the General Terms and Conditions stated below and Participant(s)’ act of participation in the Activity will be deemed acceptance to abide by the same.
  • Each Participant should (i) be citizen of India; (ii) be minimum 18 (eighteen) years as on 7th September, 2020 (iii) be maximum 55 (fifty-five) years as on 7th September 2020 (iv) be medically fit (v) not have any criminal conviction and (vi) not have an arrangement or a contract with any third party that prevents the Participant(s) from participating in the Activity (vii) may be a NRI/Foreign National with ties to India.
  • If the Participant is found to be ineligible, or if he or she has not complied with these Terms and Conditions, the corresponding Entry will stand disqualified and such decision shall be final and binding.
  • The interested Participant shall be required to visit the Entry Platform and fill in her/his Entry by typing out all the required personal information such as name, address, age, phone number, email address and other details (collectively referred to as the “Personal Information”) and upload a Video of Participant(s) acting performance as mentioned in the registration form (“Form”) posted on the Entry Platform by the FFI and submit the Form by clicking on “submit” button during the Activity Period.
  • The process of Entry will be deemed ‘complete’ only when the Participant visits the Entry Platform and submits the Personal Information along with his/her photographs and uploads the Video by clicking on “submit” button.
  • Entries via the Entry Platform shall be accepted from 5th September, 2020 - 9AM till 30th September, 2020 - 11: 59 IST (“Entry Period”). Such Entry Period may be further revised e.g. extended, at the sole discretion of the FFI.
  • The FFI shall promote this Activity through the medium of channel, website, print media (newspapers), web/television (promos, etc.), push SMS, radio, digital media online and any other manner as shall be deemed fit by the FFI, at its sole discretion, stating the mechanism in which the Participant can participate in the Activity.
  • It is further clarified that the details of the Entry will be saved and stored in the FFI’s data server to be utilized and publicized only for the purpose of the Activity.
  • It is clarified that each Participant shall submit only one (1) Entry during the Activity Period in each category of language. Entries received from the Participant(s) which is contrary to the terms contained herein above or after the Activity Period of the Activity shall be considered null and void.
  • Multiple entries in multiple languages will be treated as separate entries. E,g, if a contestant wishes to audition in Hindi and Marathi languages, the contestant will have to upload two separate entries and pay for each of those entries separately.
  • Entry Fee for each category is capped at Rs. 1800 for Indian Nationals and $30 (USD) for NRI’s/Foreign Nationals. A receipt for the same shall be auto-generated by the system payment gateway of FFI.
  • FFI or a team commissioned by FFI shall conduct a preliminary scrutiny session and post that, shall notify only the selected candidates. The same may be done over phone calls/sms/email/displaying the names on the website.
  • The Participants shall ensure that the Entry submitted is decent, in compliance with applicable laws, and is not immoral, defamatory, abusive, offensive, insensitive, libelous or blasphemous to any person (living or dead), religious sect or section of the society, or infringe the rights of any third party including intellectual property etc. Participant shall not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, update or share any information that —

    1. belongs to another person and to which the user does not have any right;
    2. is grossly harmful, harassing, blasphemous defamatory, obscene, pornographic, pedophilic, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically objectionable, disparaging, relating or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise unlawful in any manner whatever;
    3. harm minors in any way;
    4. infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights;
    5. violates any law for the time being in force;
    6. deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of such messages or communicates any information which is grossly offensive or menacing in nature;
    7. impersonate another person in a defamatory manner;
    8. contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
    9. The Participant represents that he/she has not been accused or convicted or is otherwise involved in any criminal offence and/or is not under inquiry or trial by the police or judiciary which has not been disclosed to the FFI in writing. That the Participant(s) are not required to be present before any authority including police or any court of law for a term of twelve (12) months from the date of registration and has no other disability which would prevent or impede his/her participation in the Program (if selected/shortlisted)
    10. Threatens the unity, integrity, defense, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order or causes incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence or prevents investigation of any offence or is insulting any other nation. For avoidance of doubt, the Participant(s) agrees that the FFI has the right to remove any such material/Post which may not be in consonance with applicable law.
  • The FFI shall not be responsible for any Entry submitted by the Participant but not received or recorded due to any reason whatsoever including but not limited to technical disruption and/or network provider’s connection failure and/or electricity failure and/or any reason whatsoever.
  • The Participants shall ensure that the participation in the Activity shall be in accordance with applicable laws and does not infringe rights of any third party.
  • After the end of the Activity Period, on the basis of the Participant(s) having made a valid Entry in accordance with the terms mentioned above, the FFI at its sole discretion shall shortlist several Participants(s) (“Shortlisted Participant(s)”) for participation in the Activity. For avoidance of doubt, it is clarified that the FFI’s decision and prerogative in regard to the selection and declaration of the Shortlisted Participant(s) shall be final and binding.
  • The FFI at any time during or after the expiry of the Activity Period shall at it sole discretion determine the number of Shortlisted Participant(s) to be selected for further stages of the Program.
  • The Entry made by each Participant is non-transferrable and non-exchangeable.
  • The Participant(s) agrees and undertakes that no cash equivalent of gift hampers or any cash alternatives will be given to any Participant(s).
  • The Participant shall not in any circumstances make any claims against the FFI and/or the teams commissioned by FFI, arising out of or relating to any and all costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including, without limitation, death and bodily injury, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to the Participant’s participation in the Activity or any related activity, to the extent permitted under law.
  • As a point of unmistakable ethic, Family members and relatives of the employees of the FFI and their group companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, holding companies shall not be eligible to participate in the Program and/or the Activity.
  • No dispute shall be entertained with regards to the Entry submission mechanism/ criteria and selection process. Decisions of the FFI and/or the FFI shall be final and binding on the Participants.
  • The Participant will have to sign the appearance release form, non-disclosure agreement and/or such other documents as required by the FFI from time to time; in order to participate in the Activity of the Program.
  • All information requested by and supplied to the FFI by the Participant must be truthful, accurate and in no way misleading, failing which the FFI and/or the FFI reserves at its sole discretion the right to disqualify any Participant from availing this opportunity.
  • The FFI reserves all rights to make amendments to the existing Terms and Conditions without giving any prior notice.
  • By participating in the Activity, the Participant represents that they are medically fit and do not have present or past psychological problems. If in the past, Shortlisted Participant(s) has had any psychological problems or have been under medication for any psychological, anxiety, hypertension, depression or any other medical problems, the same shall be disclosed to the FFI in writing along with a copy of the certificate from a qualified medical practitioner declaring him/her to be fit for participation in the Activity.
  • The Participant(s) may not be eligible for the Activity if he/she is suffering from any kind of critical health problems; and the final decision shall lie with FFI.
  • The Participant acknowledges that he/she has voluntarily chosen to participate in the Activity at his/her free-will and is willing to bear all risk, costs and consequences arising from such participation in the Activity.
  • The FFI makes no representations, warranties nor provides any undertaking to any of the Participant(s) that any or all of the Participants will be given any job opportunities in the motion picture industry.
  • At no point of time will the FFI be obliged to notify unsuccessful Participant(s) of its decision.
  • The Participant agrees that he/she shall make himself/herself available from time to time and co-operate with the FFI and participate in any activity and/or campaign relating to the Activity and/or Program (“Promotional Activity”) of any nature whatsoever without any money payable to the Participant. Further, the Participant shall at no point of time refuse or disagree to participate in any such Promotional Activity for any reason whatsoever. The Participant gives his/her consent to the FFI and/or any other agency on behalf of the FFI to make the footage of the participation in the Promotional Activity. The Participant in consideration of being afforded an opportunity to take part in the Activity, agrees that the footage of any nature with regard to the Participant shall vest with the FFI, including but not limited to all intellectual property rights and any other rights for worldwide and in perpetuity and the FFI may exploit the same in any manner and in any media whatsoever at any time throughout the world.
  • The Participant specifically agrees, allows, grants and permits the FFI or any party authorized by it to record (audio-video/audio or video) the participation process/performance at Activity, including but not limited to the performance and any interaction of the Participant with the FFI or fellow Participant or any judges and/or representative of the FFI, if any, of the Participant(s) rendered during entire Activity or any related series of video recordings which have been shot during the Activity on film, tape or digital or other electronic media and includes recording of any personal questions or conversations relating to the personal lives of the Participants (“Footage”) and agrees that the Footage may be used by the FFI as it deems fit anywhere in the world at any time now or in the future, including but not limited for promotion of the Program. For the avoidance of doubt, all rights in the Footage vests exclusively with the FFI worldwide in perpetuity and the FFI is entitled to exploit the same in any manner it may deem fit.
  • The Participant(s) shall hold harmless and indemnify, the FFI, its affiliates, its group companies, their employees, officers, directors or any other person from and against any injury/damage/harm/loss/ death/ mental or emotional trauma or lost opportunity suffered by the Participant(s) in connection with the Activity and also to the extent possible under law, waives all rights to file in person/ through any family member and/or third party any applications, criminal and/or civil proceedings in any courts or forum in India to claim any damages or reliefs.
  • The Participant(s) and/or Shortlisted Participants shall hold harmless and indemnify the Organizers its affiliates, its group companies, their employees, officers, directors and/or any other person from and against any suit/litigation/injury/damage/harm/loss suffered by the FFI/FFI in connection with any act of the Participant(s)/ Shortlisted Participant and/or the Activity and/or Entry and/or any third-party rights claims with respect to the material submitted by the Participant(s)/ Shortlisted Participant(s)

  • If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by any court or other competent authority to be void or unenforceable in whole or part, the other provisions of these Terms and Conditions and the remainder of the affected provisions shall continue to be valid.
  • These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India and subject to exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Courts in Kolkata.
  • The FFI is empowered to take a decision on any case not covered by the present Terms and Conditions.
  • Each provision of this Terms and Conditions shall be considered severable, and if for any reason any provision(s), or the application of such provision(s) to any person, entity or circumstance, shall be held invalid or unenforceable, such provision(s) shall be ineffective to the extent of such invalidity or unenforceability without invalidating the remaining provisions hereof, or the application of the affected provision to persons, entities or circumstances other than those to which it was held invalid or unenforceable.

  • The FFI is in no manner whatsoever responsible and/or shall not be held liable, for any lost opportunity, any physical injury, death, mental trauma caused to any Participant in any manner whatsoever, in relation to participation in the Program.
  • The FFI, shall be under no liability whatsoever to the Participants and/or Participants, in respect of any loss, damage suffered by the Participant and/or Participants arising from or pursuant to the Program or for any and all loss, damage, cost, expense or injury to life or property sustained by the Participant and/or Participants at any stage of the Activity whether or not caused (1) by the Participant’s participation in the Activity/Program, or being selected or disqualified including loss of opportunity, caused to the Participant; (2) as a result of the decisions of the FFI; (3) as a result of any comment, remark, judgment, view, criticism, critique, opinion and/or observation made and/or passed by the FFI commissioned Judge/Jury; (4) by any printing, typographical or technological errors in any materials associated with the Program, Notwithstanding the generality of the foregoing, the FFI expressly excludes liability for all direct, indirect and consequential loss or damage, including but not limited to loss or damage to property or for loss of profit, business, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings pursuant to participation in the Activity. In no event will the measure of damages include, nor will the FFI be liable for, any amounts for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any party, including third parties; or for damages attributable to the Participant and/or Participant; or circumstances beyond the FFI’s reasonable control.
  • The FFI or any of its affiliates will not be liable for any loss of earnings, employment or otherwise caused to the Participant Participant/Shortlisted Participant(s) arising as a result of his/her participation in the Activity.
  • The FFI shall not be held accountable/liable for any disruptions/stoppages/ interruptions or cancellation of the production of the Program on account of any force majeure factors or otherwise.
  • FFI shall not be held responsible or accountable for any expenses, loss, injury or any other liability which may arise for the Participant while participating in the Activity.
  • The Participant/ Shortlisted Participant(s) hereby agrees to indemnify the FFI or its affiliates against any claims that might arise from his/her actions or omissions while participating in the Activity or due to any representations, misrepresentations or concealment of material facts by the Participant/ Shortlisted Participant(s)

Documents accepted for Age Proof & Address Proof

The participant shall have to provide proof of his/her age and an address proof by uploading the necessary documents as a scanned PDF file. Accepted documents for Indian Nationals are Aadhar Card/Voter Card/Driving License/Passport. Any two documents can be used for this purpose.

For Foreign Nationals/NRI, a copy of Passport must be uploaded as a valid proof.

Every participant who wishes to register, enter and compete in the Search for Stars Talent Contest by uploading and submitting a video of his or her performance on this website needs to read and understand these rules, agree with and accept them.


The Participants

  • can be Male, Female or Any other. All are welcome.
  • must be 18 to 55 years of Age, both years included, with their birthdays falling on or after January 1, 1965 all the way up to December 31, 2002 or before.
  • must upload their front-facing photograph, (Half Bust) on the website.
  • shall have to provide proof of age and address by uploading copies of the required/necessary documents as scanned PDF files.
    • (a) Accepted Documents for Indian Nationals are Aadhar Card/Voter Card/Driving License/Passport. (Any two of these documents may be submitted).
    • (b) Participants who are Foreign Nationals or NRIs must upload a copy of their Passports as a valid proof.


All Contestants must prepare a two minute video, highlighting their ability to perform in front of a camera, to up load on the Search for Stars website.

Contestants must be fluent in at least one, of the following 13 Indian languages in order to create a good performance video:
Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Panjabi, Tamil, Telugu

Please NOTE:
In order to multiply their chances, talented participants are welcome to submit video performances in more than one language. However, every additional language submission will be treated as a separate entry and the participant will have to sign up afresh on the portal for every entry.Multiples entries in a single language by a participant are NOT permitted.

Dos & Don’ts before shooting.: In order to prepare for the performance video for submission, some points have to be kept in mind.

The location where the shooting has to take place must be evenly lit. Not too bright to wash out the video, nor too under lit to mar the visibility of the performer. It must be silent, free of noise (birds, dogs, people chattering, rickety fans, squeaking furniture, etc.)

The background should be plain. Not black or dark, Not white or bright. Not cluttered to distract from the performance.

Clothing, Jewellery and Makeup The performer should wear plain clothes, too.
No black, white or red. No Thin stripes or fine checks.
No jingling and distracting jewellery or makeup.
Just enough, the right amount.

Props may be used, if needed.

Contestants must watch the film from where they have selected their portion to perform. Especially that very part. Again and again. Study it and then do it! In their very own special, personal way. Please be careful to ensure that the duration does not exceed 90 seconds or is less than 60 seconds. Rehearse many times.

Entrants must shoot their rehearsals as many times as needed to study and learn from do better till they get a perfect performance and they are satisfied they have done a good job. Check out with others.

The video must be shot in horizontal (landscape) position. Not Vertical.

Please do not shoot the video selfie-style. Use a stand or get someone to shoot for you.

Video Specifications

What is wanted is a video that is not longer than two minutes (120 seconds).
There will be two parts to this Video:
  • A) The Introduction (up to 30 seconds).
    Here the performer will give the following details
    • 1) Full Name
    • 2) Age in Years
    • 3) Height in Feet & Inches / Centimetres
    • 4) Name of State
    • 5) Language of Performance
    • 6) The Name of the Film
    • 7) The Role you are going to ACT
    • 8) Name of Actor who performed the role (optional)
  • B) Performance in preferred Language (60-90 seconds):

    Please NOTE:

    The entrant must view/review their videos and only when they are thoroughly satisfied with their performance, must they upload the video on the Search for Stars website.

    Videos failing technical checks are liable to be rejected.

    No refunds will be given for rejected videos.

    Payment of the Processing Fee does not guarantee advancing to further stages or inclusion in the Talent Bank.

    This is entirely dependent on the quality of the performance of the individual participant as adjudged by the Organising Committee, Selectors and the Judges.

    The Decision of the Organising Committee, Selectors and Judges is final and binding in all cases and matters.
